May: Selkirk Waterfront Festival

Jam One in the Can! Jam One in the Can is all about butts... The biggest clean-up in Canada! We model what can happen when a nickel refundable deposit is applied to cigarette butts. In 2019, we gave away $2000, fed one hundred people and removed an unprecedented 646,209 cigarette butts from the environment. Stay tuned for details on this year's prizes! |
June: Car Free Day
10 - 5 Downtown Victoria Douglas Street Held annually on Father’s Day, this free event takes over nine city blocks. This day-long celebration includes the Butt Hut where we will be taking in cigarette butts and cigar tips for recycling. Build a birdhouse, play a garbage game and learn more about our local activities! September 2020 (Date TBA)
Gorge Waterway Clean up Gorge Waterway, Selkirk Green Park Join us at the iconic Gorge Waterway Clean-Up! Every year, volunteers pitch in to clean up the water and shoreline along the Gorge, improving the habitat for local wildlife. We invite everyone to participate in this important event: Volunteers clean the shoreline, and a volunteer dive team retrieves debris from the water. Bring boots and gloves or borrow ours! |
